Stiffel Lamps Review

Stiffel Lamps Rating: Unfortunately it is difficult to rate Stiffel because they stopped making this classic American brand around 2005. Its too bad because Stiffel lamps date back to 1932. Perhaps we know them best as makers of quality home fixtures with intricate designs. Stiffel lamps usually sport a variety of fabric lampshades with a solid metal base that also comes in different types of finishes that will suit your style. From classic to modern and contemporary designs, Stiffel lamps made a lamp for a demanding shopper. Their attention to detail was exceptional and their style is quite innovative.

Insider’s tip:
You may still be able to find Stiffel online. Try Ebay or local estate sales. You may not want to buy a “used” lamp, but Stiffle lamps were made to last. Not to mention that Stiffel lamps are hard to come by these days, making them sort of a “collector’s item”.

Caution:
Avoid the lamps with custom glass shapes. They will be impossible to find if it needs a new glass shade. Fabric shades can always be custom ordered at lamp shade sites. Stiffel was last owned by Salton, Inc. and are quite different from the Stiffel that we know. In fact, it is safe to say that Stiffel is out of business. However, if you know your lamps and know what to look for in just the right places, you might still be able to find a few Stiffel lamps out there.

Bottom line: Stiffel lamps are makers were some of the richest lamps in quality and detail you could find. Prices are moderate to high but, considering how scarce they are nowadays, we think you will get your money’s worth when you find the right piece. A Stiffel lamp is a great collector’s item and a great addition to your home.

I remember Stiffel lamps back in the 1930’s. Too bad they stopped production. I guess times change…
